How all election campaigns start






  • Based on historial tenancies; positions and party strength are determined.
  • Several factors influence an inital position: The Region, The Province and the leader of the party.
  • Ridings issue positions are selected.
  • Candidates, candidate values, candidate attributes and positions are selected.
  • Candidates run for nomination in a riding. The Candidates with the best overall score is choosen for that party. If no other person is running then the candidate is acclaimed.
  • Leaders are selected from the best and the brightest from each federal party.

Election Polls

  • Polls are run daily throughout the entire campaign.
  • Candidates actions are completed throughout the day and are used to calculate the totals.
  • Party Leaders can perform a number of tasks: Travel to Riding, Speech, Fundraise, Develop Policy , Debate Prep, Media Visit, Grassroots Campaign, Community Visit.
  • The amount of tasks they can perform depend on their stamina attribute. Each action requires different attribute(s).
  • Factors that go into the poll calculations are Riding Issue Positions vs Candidates Issue Positions, Candidate Popularity, Riding / Provincial / Federal Bonuses, Party Provincce Strength
  • Only the top 5 riding issues are use in the poll calculations for each riding.

Candidates

  • Candidates have attributes made up of: Popularity, Strength, LocalParty, Charisma, Debating, Stamina, Integrity, Networking, Visionary, Finance
  • These attributes help for various tasks along the campaign trail. A high finance rating helps for raising money while a high stamina would allow a candidates to perform more actions in a single day. Giving a speach would require multiple attribute values and a high popularity score goes directly towards the final score.
  • Candidates have 5 Social, Business and Personal Values selected at the start of the game that can connect with voters.
  • Candidates positions on the issues can vary slightly from the party position at the beginning of the campaign. But during the campaign a candidate can change his view slowly.

Parties

  • The parties that take place in the campaign are the NDP Liberal, Green Party, Conservative, Bloc.
  • The bloc can only run in quebec ridings.
  • Party strength overall, in different provinces and regions depends on historial success as well as future promise.
  • Each party has platform of 5 issues. New issues can take the place of less important issues during the campaign.

Ridings

  • Riding issue positions are determined by Regions Typesand a random factor.
  • Ridings are part of National Regions, City Types, Cities and Provinces.
  • Ridings have a detailed breakdown of the different population types and statistics.

Issues

  • Issues play an important part during the campaign.
  • Each riding has a different importance for each issue and the top 5 are part of the final poll calculations
  • Issues play an important role for parties as they try to change the importances of issues in Ridings they visit to match their platforms.
